5 Ways to Relax this Weekend

As a busy mom of two, my life is all about finding balance. To accomplish all the things that I do at the age of 43, I learned that weekends are reserved for unwinding and spending some time focusing on myself. I want to share with you five easy ways to relax and feel more prepared and energized come Monday morning.

1. Pamper

Aside from daily cleansing, how many of us find the time to really take care of our skin during the week? Now is the perfect time to sit down and catch up on your favorite show or book while treating yourself to a face mask. My Exfoliating Treatment Mask contains Bentonite Clay and microencapsulated beads that gently buffs away dead skin cells and probiotics that help keep my skin younger, healthier, and more vibrant. I like to follow up with the Hydrating Day & Night Cream which leaves my skin hydrated, nourished and silky smooth. What’s interesting about the entire TULA line is that it uses probiotics – the same good for you bacteria that we all have in our gut – in a patented probiotic technology. Our Discovery Kit is a great way to introduce yourself to the regimen.

2. Disconnect

These days with email and smart phones it’s easy to spend an excessive amount of time glued to our phones. Why not turn your notifications off? Over the weekend, I try my best to disconnect from gadgets and work-related email. If it’s impossible to go all weekend, then at least make a point to only check in once a day. Saturday mornings should be reserved for waking up slowly and enjoying a quiet morning eating breakfast or meditating, not grabbing your phone as soon as you roll out of bed.

3. Sleep

Getting enough sleep is one of the most important elements in improving your quality of life, so it’s important to invest in a setup that works for you. I’m a light sleeper, so installing blinds to keep the light out and finding a way to cancel noise has been a great help to me. Treat yourself and invest in quality linens – you’ll be excited to crawl into a warm and comfortable bed. The result? More restful sleep!

4. Get Cozy

Just because you’re planning on spending most of your time indoors this weekend doesn’t mean you can’t look good doing it. Be your most relaxed and comfortable self! Find a great robe you can lounge in after a long bath or shower. It’ll give you ample time to apply your favorite body cream or better yet, wash off your face mask. Afterwards, slip into a luxurious set of pajamas.

5. Exercise

Depending on your job, you may find yourself stuck at your desk for most of the week. A day off is your chance to take advantage of moving your body. I like stretching and practicing yoga first thing in the morning in my living room before my kids wake up. Weekends are the perfect time to connect with family and friends, why not do something active together? Anything that gets your blood pumping will ensure a happier, healthier week ahead.

PS. After an energizing workout, don’t forget to wash your face to get rid of the dirt, sweat and grease. Try TULA’s Purifying Face Cleanser which removes all the grime without drying out your skin.

Have a great weekend!
