Taking Care of Your Hands
Our hands do so much for us every day, but yet we often overlook them, not giving them the attention and care they deserve.
We hear all the time that we need to wash our hands multiple times a day, however hand washing can leave hands dry and cracked.
There are a number of things you can do every day to improve the health of your hands to keep them youthful and hydrated.
1. Try using a gentle soap rather than an antibacterial soap. Antibacterial soaps are unnecessary and dry out skin. They can also kill beneficial bacteria on the skin.
2. Wear gloves when using cleaning products and in cold weather. Gloves help protect hands from irritation and drying.
3. Hands are often overlooked when applying sunscreen. Next time you’re out in the sun, don’t forget to rub some SPF on your hands.
4. Moisturize often. Moisturizer helps to keep hands soft and hydrated by holding water in the outer layers of skin. Creams are thicker than lotions, and will hold in moisture for longer and are a better choice for very dry skin. Because fragrances can cause an allergic reaction, use a fragrance-free moisturizer like the TULA Hand & Nail Therapy.
